Autonomic was commissioned in 2021 by the Cool Farm Alliance – an international membership organisation set up to “enable millions of growers globally to make more informed on-farm decisions that reduce their environmental impact” by connecting academic, industry and agricultural organisations to collaborate on the Cool Farm Tool, a free-to-use software platform to assess the environmental impact of agriculture.
We carried out a comprehensive review and update of the Cool Farm Tool’s Technical Description (the document outlining the calculation methodology for the greenhouse gas, biodiversity, water, and food waste metrics), and designed and implemented a suite of evidence model calculators to facilitate development and review of future changes to the Cool Farm Tool.
